Christopher Bailey’s collection for Burberry Prorsum Resort 2013 is a fairly staid offering, but one that will do for mid-season. Of course there are several good trenches, in very narrow silhouettes I might add, as well as some cropped moto jackets in a variety of colors and materials. Trousers are super skinny and skim the ankle while the trend for tailored shorts continues in a variety that are pleated and cuffed and resemble bloomers.
The colors tend towards sand, warm greys and a lovely dusty English rose shade mixed back with strong, rich black here and there. Of particular note was a shin-length cocktail dress in silver jacquard, and the long gowns in white and black that are somewhat new territory for Bailey.
