That’s right, in a surprising bit of news, Rosie is set to exit The View for the second time.
Nope, you’re not having deja vu! Rosie’s very last show will be next week.
However, not only will Rosie cease to be a co-host of the ABC morning talk show, but Rosie’s rep confirmed today that Rosie and her wife Michelle Rounds have split up:
“I can confirm that Rosie and her wife Michelle split in November.”
What? We’re surprised she kept this breakup on the down low for these past few months!
Rosie’s rep had this to say about where her current priorities lie:
“Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention. This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first. ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave The View. Next week will be her last.”
We wish Rosie nothing but the absolute best during this tough time!
Since Batman v Superman seems to be inspired by Frank Miller‘s classic The Dark Knight Returns, and that book features Batman and Joker’s final battle, it makes sense that their fight might spill over — until Batman eventually gets his own movie again!
Speaking of Batman fights — how does he even stand a chance against Superman? In the comics, he has help from The Flash, Green Arrow, and some Kryptonite gloves.
But according to the film’s fight choreographer Guillermo Grispo, it may just be brains over brawn. He says:
“There’s a thought that Batman has no chance, that the Superman will squash him like a bug. But when you see the movie, and how it all comes out, there’s a very intelligent explanation as to why they would have a first-hand confrontation, though it seems to be totally to Batman’s disadvantage.”
Guillermo says Batman’s fighting prowess will actually be one of the big draws of the film — and why they’ll even surpass Christopher Nolan‘s Dark Knight trilogy! He says:
“Now Batman is going to fight the way I’ve always dreamed of seeing him fight. He’s a character so prepared in martial arts that you can do a lot of things with him, but filmmakers usually don’t go all the way with it.
Even in the last Nolan movies, the action scenes aren’t very good from a technical, martial arts point of view to things like choreography, filming, bad camera movements.
Don’t get me wrong, Nolan is great, my hats off to him… but I think that he did not pay too much attention to the fights. Those are the kind of details that Zack, being so physical himself, loves preparing. I think there’s going to be a big difference when you see these Batman fights in comparison to the previous ones.”
We’re still holding out hope this is going to be as amazing as promised, but we do have to agree here — it’s about time Batman got some great fight scenes!
The 2024 Olympics and Paralympics are creeping up on us, and it’s time for the world to get ready!
So, where will these summer games be held? Well, we’re not exactly sure… but we do know that Boston has won the bid to represent the UnitedStates!
The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) had a board meeting at the Denver International Airport, and Boston, which has never hosted the Olympic games, got the bid over Los Angeles, who has hosted the Olympics twice.
Mayor Martin J. Walsh gave a statement about the decision, saying:
“It is an exceptional honor for Boston to be chosen as the U.S. representative in the running for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This selection is in recognition of our city’s talent, diversity and global leadership. Our goal is to host an Olympic and Paralympic Games that are innovative, walkable and hospitable to all. Boston hopes to welcome the world’s greatest athletes to one of the world’s great cities.”
Boston is one of the nation’s oldest cities and is certainly worthy of this bid!
Congrats to them and hopefully everyone else wants to have the games there too!
Frozen‘s star Josh Gad is rumored to be in line to play Roger Ebert in a new indie movie about the film critic’s life, titled Russ & Roger Go Beyond.
If casted, Gad will play opposite Will Ferrell, who signed on last August, which could be a HIGHlarious pairing! Also, the actors have both worked together recently, along with Kevin Hart, in Get Hard and The Wedding Ringer. Jonah Hill was originally up for the job, but those talks didn’t go far.
The rumor started when producer David Permut let the casting decision slip in Palm Springs over the weekend, and other sources have said that Gad is the producers’ top choice for the role.
There’s no director yet and Saturday Night Live‘s Christopher Cluess wrote the script, so we’re guessing this indie film is going to be magic!
As for the plot, the story follows Roger and filmmaker Russ Meyer‘s journey into making Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. Russ hired Roger as the screenwriter after Russ read a positive review Roger wrote about one of his films.
Proving that flattery will get you everywhere! LOLz!
It follows their journey to make the film, as well as to fight the film’s X-rating. When Meyer died in 2004, they were still good friends. Ebert passed away in 2013.
Sounds like it’s going to be awesome! Hopefully this casting rumor is the real deal!
