What an uplifting story!
A family in Mesquite, Nevada, got more than they bargained for when they gave their young son a Jawbreaker over the weekend.
That’s because 3-year-old Damian Valencia began choking while sucking on the hard candy!
When the boy’s mother, Mariana Cardiel, noticed her son falling out of consciousness, she ran him to the closest building she could find — a Green Valley Grocery store.

The cashier immediately called 911, but luckily for the family, Quinn Averett, an off-duty police officer, was just feet away from the store when the call came in.
He rushed in and began a reverse Heimlich maneuver! The footage was caught on the store’s surveillance camera AND Quinn’s police body cam. That’s right, these cameras caught the officer SAVING a life.
Ch-ch-check out the dramatic video (below)!!!
We’re so glad that Quinn was at the right place at the right time — and so are Damian’s parents.
Talk about a holiday helper!

After news broke of Ryan Knight‘s sudden death in Kenosha, Wisconsin, his cause of death is still unknown.
An autopsy has been completed after the Real World New Orleans cast member was found dead Thursday morning, and no “anatomical cause of death” was determined.

Police attempted to revive him when his body was found, but before that fatal moment, he had been complaining of stomach issues for about two days. There were no obvious signs of injury when he was found, but a friend had allegedly commented that he was covered in vomit when he was found, leading some to believe he choked on his own vomit.
Police also report that no drugs were found at the scene of the death, but it had also been reported Ryan had been partying hard with friends the night before. He had also allegedly told one friend that he was taking “some pills.”
Officials are now waiting on toxicology results to get further information.
We hope his friends and family get some closure with this sad passing.

After more than 100 days of protests, a federal grand jury has determined Darren Wilson‘s fate.
18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by the Ferguson police officer during an altercation on August 9. Police claim that Brown reached for Wilson’s weapon, while Brown’s family and several witnesses claim Wilson shot Brown while he was raising his hands to surrender.
The grand jury — consisting of nine white jurors and three black jurors — decided by majority NOT to indict Officer Wilson after deliberating for two days. The jury could have charged Wilson with first degree murder, second degree murder, manslaughter, or involuntary manslaughter.
After being informed of the decision by authorities, Brown’s family attorney Benjamin Crump released the news shortly before the official announcement:
“The jury was not inclined to indict on any charges.”
At 9:22 p.m. ET, county prosecutor Robert McCulloch confirmed the verdict in a televised press conference:
“No probable cause existed to charge Officer Wilson.”
In a statement, Brown’s family said they were “profoundly disappointed” by the decision.
Missouri Governor Jay Nixon, who declared a state of emergency last week in anticipation of civil unrest, addressed the public shortly before the verdict:
“Our shared hope and expectation is that regardless of the decision, people on all sides show tolerance, mutual respect, and restraint. Together, we are all focused on making sure the necessary resources are on hand to protect lives, protect property, and protect free speech.”
Nixon’s words echoed those of President Obama, who on Sunday called for calm and asked citizens to “keep protests peaceful.” A number of local schools were also closed in anticipation of the verdict and will be closed Tuesday.
Officer Wilson’s current location is undisclosed.
This story is developing…

We have an idea of what went wrong, but we may never know the full story!
Joan Rivers tragically passed away this past September 4th, and although autopsies are usually performed to determine the exact cause of death – a decision was made NOT to have one performed on Joan’s body!
A person from the NYC Medical Examiner says that happened because Joan’s daughter Melissa Rivers was deep in mourning that she decided not to have one done.
And New York law says that wish will be honored for families as long as there’s no “evidence of criminality” involved in the person’s death.
The cause of death has since been ruled that Joan died from a lack of oxygen which caused extended damage to her brain. The procedure is believed to have caused this “complication” and not the drug Propofol.

Without an autopsy there isn’t really a way to pinpoint what happened to Joan Rivers, but we totally understand why Melissa couldn’t even think about an autopsy after her beloved mother died.
And although this means we may never know what exactly caused Joan’s death, that doesn’t mean the investigation where the procedure took place at the Yorkville Endoscopy clinic won’t provide some definitive answers.
We’re hopeful that investigation can shed some light on what happened to this beloved woman who at least leaves behind one magnificent legacy to forever keep her name in the history books.

We finally learned Joan Rivers‘ cause of death on Thursday. But was that the whole story?
The coroner’s office implied that the lcm of oxygen during Joan’s hypoxic arrest was a possible side effect for anyone being anesthetized.
But at least one medical source thinks different.
[ Related: Joan Rivers Cause Of Death Finally Released! Details HERE! ]
According to this source, the Propofol administered to Joan had nothing to do with her hypoxia.
In fact, they say that Joan didn’t suffer a lack of oxygen until AFTER the procedure was over. If this due to Joan’s oxygen levels not being properly monitored, then it was preventable.
And that means someone is at fault.
The investigation into the Yorkville Endoscopy clinic is ongoing.
