Shown in the Wedgwood room at the Savoy Hotel in London, this collection was a veritable bouquet of delicate florals, lace motifs and pleated silk. While pattern-mixing and layers of sheer chiffon paying peek-a-boo hardly sound conservative, the styling added a touch of ladylike sophistication with gloves and hats tilted just so atop the models’ coiffure.
Hemlines generally hovered around the knee, with a few floor-length gowns and then a pair of shorts thrown in here and there. Mostly, it was a very fresh, feminine look for Spring that spared us both the saccharine and retro themes which frequent so many runways. One can easily see why the Duchess of Cambridge is a fan.
